Author Amish Tripathi Discloses That The Rights to 'The Immortals of Meluha' Are No Longer With Karan Johar

Amish Tripathi, the author, has declared that filmmaker Karan Johar is no longer involved in the production of the film 'The Immortals of Meluha'. Previously, Johar's Dharma Productions
secured the rights to adapt the book.

Amish Tripathi notified IndiaToday.in that the rights to 'The Immortals of Meluha' had been returned to him from Dharma Productions.

Negotiations are also underway with another production company, though Tripathi declined to reveal the identity, claiming that the discussions are still in their early stages.

Dharma Productions had purchased the rights to the novel, and sources suggested that Karan Johar was considering celebrities such as Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra for the film adaptation. However, the author has confirmed to IndiaToday.in that the project with Dharma Productions is no longer under process.

Tripathi rose to prominence after publishing The Immortals of Meluha, the first book in the Shiva Trilogy, in 2010. This work tells a reinvented account of the Hindu deity Shiva set against a fictional backdrop, engaging readers with its unique blend of myth, history, and imagination.
Following 'The Immortals of Meluha, Amish has authored other bestselling novels, including 'The Secret of the Nagas' and 'The Oath of the Vayuputras,' both sequels to the Shiva Trilogy.

He has also written the Ram Chandra Series, which includes novels such as 'Scion of Ikshvaku' and 'Sita: Warrior of Mithila,' cementing his reputation as a prolific and respected author.
